Executives at OPRAH WINFREY's production company have apologised to viewers after poor research led the TV titan to make a string of false claims about the benefits of living in Dubai.
The media mogul used her daily U.S. talk show to feature a segment on inspirational women from across the globe, including an interview with Dr. Lamees Hamdan, a Dubai mother who launched her own successful range of cosmetics in the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.).

أعلنت وزارة الصحة الصينية اليوم السبت عن وفاة أول شخصين بمرض أنفلونزا الخنازير بالرغم من تطعيمهما باللقاح المخصص للمرض.وبالرغم من تأكيد منظمة الصحة العالمية لمأمونية اللقاح إلا أن هذه الأنباء ستعزز مخاوف الناس من اللقاح والتي أثارها الكثير من المختصين طوال الفترة السابقة ما دفع الكثير من الدول إلى جعل التطعيم اختياريا.وقال المتحدث الرسمي باسم الوزارة دنغ هاي هوا "أن مواطنين صينيين توفيا بعد تطعيمهما بلقاح أنفلونزا الخنازير لافتا إلى أنها المرة الأولى التي تسجل فيها الصين حالات وفاة بهذه الأنفلونزا لأشخاص تم تطعيمهم باللقاح".يذكر أن الصين التي تعد أول دولة في العالم تصدر ترخيصا لإنتاج لقاحات هذه الأنفلونزا، سجلت حتى مساء أمس الجمعة 36 وفاة جراء الإصابة بأنفلونزا الخنازير بالإضافة إلى نحو 63 ألف إصابة بينها 285 في حالة خطرة.
Madonna shoots Dolce & Gabbana’s campaign
Madonna has joined forces with Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana to showcase their spring/summer 2010 collection in the brand’s forthcoming ad campaign.
The adverts will be Sicilian-themed and were shot in Brooklyn, New York, by renowned fashion photographer Stephen Klein.
“To have Madonna in our campaign is a dream come true,” Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said in a statement.
“It seemed only fitting that Madonna, who embodies both the strong sensuality of the brand and who shares an Italian heritage with the designers should be the one to showcase the Sicilian inspired collection,” the duo remarked of their upcoming collection, which is said to heavily feature corsets.

Leave Lamees Alone is a response campaign to this incident, which is causing quite a stir in the UAE.
